ARTIST Vincent Willem van Gogh
TITLE Irises
YEAR 1890

A Miracle Blue Matured Over Time. Bringing the Comfort of a Breeze by the Window to Your Room

The still life painting from his very final years, painted just before Van Gogh was discharged from the mental asylum after self-harming in Arles due to mental illness.

It was originally painted as "vivid purple irises shining against a pink background," but as a result of the red paint he used fading over many years, it has now undergone a miraculous transformation into "beautiful blue irises floating on a white background."

It is truly the art of time, embodying Van Gogh's famous quote, "Paint fades like flowers." The undulating stems of the irises and the sword-like lines of the leaves evoke the painter's quiet tenacity wishing for recovery from illness and the infinite self-healing power possessed by nature.

Dynamic Compositional Beauty Reminiscent of Rinpa and Ukiyo-e, Inviting the Early Summer Breeze into the Room

The vivid green table piercing the bottom of the screen and the white ceramic pitcher standing majestically in the center play a truly splendid color contrast with the deep blue irises arranged as if overflowing.

The sword-like leaves dynamically extending on the screen and the undulating lines of the iris stems have a decorative and beautiful compositional beauty like Japanese Rinpa and Ukiyo-e.

The miraculously faded pale blue and white tones, and the contrast of fresh green bring a quiet coolness to the room.

By decorating it in a bright living room, a natural modern space, or on a wall near a window, it is as if it invites a pleasant early summer breeze into everyday life.

Vincent Willem van Gogh

1853 - 1890

Born in the Netherlands in 1853, Vincent van Gogh was a Post-Impressionist genius who thrust the vitality of nature and his own soul onto the canvas with blazing colors and undulating brushstrokes. After deciding to become a painter at the age of 27, he produced approximately 2,000 works in a mere decade.

During this period, he continuously captured sunflowers burning like the sun, starry nights swirling like tempests, and an awkwardly pure thirst for life.

The impasto textures of thickly applied paint and the vivid, complementary color palettes simultaneously exude a heart-wrenching passion and a profound reverence for nature.

This overwhelming energy pours overflowing vitality and warm light into our lives, filling everyday spaces with a positive, radiant passion.

  • Reduces UV-induced fading

We use standard acrylic panels, which are ideal for displaying valuable artwork. These panels block approximately 90% of UV rays from indoor lighting and windows, suppressing artwork degradation and preserving the vivid colors when you receive them for a long time.

  • Overwhelming reproducibility that even captures the artist's brushstrokes.

We've adopted a special printing technique that faithfully reproduces even the author's brushstrokes and layers of ink. Rich colors, 16.77 million of them, are laid upon paper with a moist texture that absorbs light. The work can be clearly enjoyed from any angle, without reflections even by a window or under lighting, preserving its original texture.

  • Reliable Delivery and After-Sales Support

To ensure the safe delivery of delicate artworks, we use special shock-absorbing cushioning and reinforced cardboard. In the unlikely event of damage during shipping, please rest assured that we will respond promptly.
